Why dethernety exists
Traditional threat modeling tools predate graph databases and cloud-native architectures. They store security relationships in relational tables, treat analysis as a per-component exercise, and produce documents that go stale fast.
Security is a relationship problem. Attack paths are graph traversals. Blast radius is a connectivity query. Chokepoints are vertex cuts. Graph operations, not spreadsheet operations.
dethernety is built on a graph database, with MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND mapped directly into the graph. Analysis is pluggable: deterministic Cypher queries, single-agent AI, or multi-agent LangGraph workflows. A module ecosystem handles industry-specific extensions and external integrations.
